Bocas Del Toro Restaurants
There are some fantastic restaurants in Bocas del Toro, but we have a few favourites depending on your taste and your budget.
Even though there are some excellent cuisines to enjoy including BBQ, Japanese and French Fusion, the local cuisine with its Caribbean flavors is something you can´t leave the island without savouring.

Chikita Beach
Location: Saigon Bay Main Road on the Beach (Within walking distance of Over The Water Rentals)
Open for: Lunch and early dinner, 6 days a week.

Chikita Beach Restaurant offers a wide range of classic Caribbean meals including Full Fried Fish and Beef in Sauce. They also offer a wide range of other dishes from Lobster Tail to Shrimp in Coconut Sauce. All meals are served with gallo pinto (Coconut Rice and Beans mixed), a fresh salad of the day and the best french fries on the island. Main Course Dishes Range in Price from $6.00 to $18.00.
Our Personal Recommendations: Pollo Apanado (Breaded Chicken) – $6.00, Bistec Picado (Beef stripes in Onion and Bell Pepper Sauce) – $6.00 and Pollo A La Pimienta (Chicken in Black Pepper Sauce) – $6.00.
Beers are cold and some cost only $1.50, they also serve a range of soft drinks too. The restaurant is on the beach, so it’s a great spot to relax and enjoy something tasty and filling after enjoying the water.
Kinga Sauce
Location: C. 1ra, Bocas del Toro
Open: Tuesday – Sunday 1pm – 9:30pm
Kinga’s place is truly and wonderful restaurant, he serves Caribbean Fusion Cuisine with fresh ingredients and fish from right here in Bocas. Don’t be fooled by the rustic look as Kinga serves some of the best food on the island and for a reasonable price.
He also has an array of homemade sauces, 35 to be precise! You’d be silly not to try. Great music and great company creates and great vibe for this place.
Guari- Guari
Location: Saigon Bay Main Road Between Bay and Beach (Within walking distance of Over The Water Rentals)
Open For: Dinner; Thursday through Tuesday (Closed on Wednesday Nights)
Guari-Guari is a Mediterranean treat offering a six course meal comprising of four starters, a main course and a dessert. Booking is required 24 hours in advance as this is one of the best eating experiences the islands have to offer and to reduce waste, they only prepare exactly the amount of food they need to feed their guests.
Making use of fresh local produce and a true love for cooking, the menu is both varied and exciting and is entirely dependant on what can be found fresh from day to day, so you´ll be able to enjoy different meals each time you book.

Igauna is definitely a place to party with dj’s and live music its a great place to drink. They also offer some dinner time food.

Gigi’s Restaurant
Gigi’s offer two food options in the form of food trucks. One food truck offers Sweet and Savoury Crepes and the other offers Fried and Grilled Chicken with a side of Plantain or French Fries.
Behind these food trucks you will find the bar which serves a vast array of drinks, including my favourite tequila 🙂 Above the bar there is more seating and they are always playing music.

This restaurant has some of the best chicken around, the menu is cheap and you get a massive portion. They also have a fridge stocked full with local beer to keep you hydrated while you eat your food.

Cafe Del Mar

Open: 7am – 11pm Everyday
Cafe del mar offers and wide range of food from breakfast to lunch and dinner, there is plenty to choose from throughout the day.
With some outside seating and fairly cheap prices it can become quite the hot spot in town.

El Ultimo Refugio

Vegetarian options, Vegan options, Gluten-free options
El Ultimo Refugio offers Caribbean, Seafood and Central American style of dishes with different dietary options also available .
It is on the pricier scale of Bocas but will be sure to leave you satiated, with sea views and live music it is a great vibe here.
